LAKE CITY, Fla. – On Tuesday, February 25, Florida Gateway College will break ground on STEM II, the next major construction project on the college’s Lake City campus.

The Grace & Al Harter Center for Innovation will be a state-of-the-art, two-story educational facility located on the northwest corner of FGC’s Main Campus. The project’s first phase will comprise approximately 10,000 square feet, consisting of two modern classrooms, two faculty offices, and 10 nursing simulation suites employing the latest in science education and medical simulation technology. The first phase is expected to be completed in Fall of 2025.

The project follows the success of FGC’s STEM I project, the Quinn & Keith Leibfried STEM Building, which has been serving students in cutting-edge labs, classrooms, and collaboration spaces since the Fall of 2022. The new building is another step forward in the college’s mission to provide world-class science education and foster the next generation of scientists, nurses, and medical professionals to serve its communities and the entire region on North Central Florida.
